I haven't been online much lately or keeping up with my favorite bloggers the way I should have been. When that happens, bad things can occur to good people, and you may be belated in sending your best wishes to them. That should be a lesson to all of us.The former Big Hominid, the good and great Kevin Kim has always been a good friend to me and my silly little adventures in writing. Being a great writer and brilliant guy himself, he's left some of the funniest comments I've ever had on my various blogs. We also both count our sainted and benevolent Maximum Leader as a personal friend.
It was only this morning that I learned that his mother isn't well. Hopefully everybody joins me in extending my very best wishes to Kevin and his family. From what I've read, they seem very optimistic, and that's half the battle in situations like this.
Obviously, this isn't the kind of blog that anyone is likely to show their parents, but I think it would be very helpful to Kevin and his family to know that people all over the world are keeping them and their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I'd humbly ask that everyone send their very best wishes to the Kim family either at Kevin's Walk or in my comments, which are now fully open. This can't be easy or fun for them and they should know that they have all the support that they could ever hope for.
I'll never forget the love and support I received from all of you when my father died two and a half years ago, and I'm a skunk. Kevin's one of the very few good guys on the net who doesn't really have a bad word to say about anyone, and we should do everything for him and his family that we can.
