A cold, dark, wet start

Mornin' all. I am off out soon to catch the train to work and it looks blimmin horrible out there.  It's dark and wet and I am not looking forward to the walk to the station.  I will look like a yeti with all my layers. And as for the hat. Well don't even go there.  I am definitely not a hat person and it is on wet days like these that the thought of just jumping in a car and tootling off to work is very appealing.  Until I think about fighting the horrendous traffic jams that appear every morning. A fifteen minute drive turns into forty minutes.  The train journey takes twelve minutes... I will stick to catching the train. Annoyingly I can't use an umbrella today as the sudden gusts of wind could easily have me off balance.  Walking with a crutch is no fun when you have to worry about wet leaves and mossy pavements.  Twice I have nearly slipped over when the crutch slid on a slimy patch on the path. I am very cautious now.
