Hello Kitty releases nail varnishes.....why.....

Good lord why?!?!

Hello Kitty are launching a collection of nail varnishes to be sold in Superdrug. The varnish will retain for about £4.95 a bottle. Why???
I hold Hello Kitty up as an example of why over marketing your brand is dangerous. Putting your name on everything that moves is often toxic as customers get sick of seeing the logo and in this case, the kitten, everywhere. It appeals to the slightly crazy amongst us - those of us who are almost and in their thirties who collect Hello Kitty and possible strangle the village pets in their basements.... but for most of us, it's annoying.

I thought I had read somewhere that the brand was trying to die this down a little and kill off a  little of the over marketing....guess I was wrong....

Mind you, they will appeal to the 12- tasteless market which is maybe what they were going for??? Who knows.....
